Wednesday of Gamma Week

On Wednesday, we held our first blood drive of the 2017-2018 school year. This is one out of two blood drives that the Gamma Phi chapter holds per semester. The American Red Cross sends out volunteer phlebotomists to our school's campus, and they set up their equipment in our student center. The blood drive is open to students and faculty on campus, as well as to the local community. Many students take time out of their day busy schedules to come and donate their blood.
Our members help the volunteers from American Red Cross by checking in people that want to donate their blood, assist the person to a table after they donate, and providing a snack and drink to that person as well. We, as a chapter, enjoy helping out the blood drive because there is always a high interest of donating from the community. Also, we get to spend time together with members we don't see as often, so this event is a great bonding experience.
