Gamma Sigma Sigma is a national service sorority that was founded on October 12, 1952 at Beekman Tower in New York City by Boston University, Brooklyn College, Drexel Institute of Technology, Los Angeles City College, New York University, Queens College, University of Miami, and University of Houston. Gamma Sigma Sigma is not selective, and we do not discriminate against race, sex, gender, or creed.

Our motto is 'Unity in Service' and our ideals focus on service, friendship, and equality. The colors of maroon and white represent our ideals as well. We have five main philanthropies that include March of Dimes, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Alex's Lemonade Stand, and MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). In addition, every two years a new Project I.M.P.A.C.T. (Individuals Making Progress Across Communities Together) is decided at National Convention. For 2017-2019, the new Project IMPACT's are Addressing Homelessness and Service to American Veterans.
